El Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza presenta la primera gran retrospectiva de los diseños del modista francés Hubert de Givenchy, un creador esencial del siglo XX y leyenda viva de la historia de la alta costura. La exposición, primera incursión del Museo en el mundo de la moda, está comisariada por el propio Givenchy y ofrece, por tanto, un enfoque excepcional de sus creaciones a lo largo de medio siglo, desde la apertura en 1952 en París de la Maison Givenchy hasta su retirada profesional en 1996. El diseñador ha seleccionado alrededor de un centenar de sus mejores vestidos, procedentes de museos y colecciones privadas de todo el mundo y muchos de ellos inéditos para el público, que dialogan en las salas con un conjunto de obras de las colecciones del Museo.

Vestidos Alta Costura inspirados en las Princesas Disney

Disney y Harrods dan el comienzo oficialmente a la puja por los diez vestidos inspirados en Princesas Disney realizados por reconocidos diseñadores de alta costura. La casa de subastas Christie’s acepta pujas antes de que comience la subasta el 13 de noviembre. Los fondos recaudados se donarán al Hospital para niños Great Ormond Street.

Los asesores de moda de Christie’s esperan que algunos de los lotes más demandados sean el vestido de Cenicienta de Versace, el increíble vestido de Bella de Valentino y el mágico diseño de Blancanieves de Oscar de la Renta. La casa de subastas ha revelado que los precios de salida de estas piezas únicas será de 3.000 libras. El público podrá ver los diez vestidos exclusivos inspirados en las Princesas Disney y creados por reconocidos diseñadores de alta costura, parte de la subasta de Vintage Couture y bolsos de lujo de Christie’s a partir del próximo 9 de noviembre en la sala de South Kensinton, en un escenario único recreado por los conocidos grandes almacenes Harrods.

Cada uno de los vestidos es una interpretación individual de una de las Princesas Disney, como parte de un homenaje a las historias de Ariel, Aurora, Bella, Cenicienta, Jasmín, Mulán, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Blancanieves y Tiana. Las piezas son el resultado de una colaboración exclusiva entre Disney y Harrods.

Matthew Grossman, vicepresidente de Corporate Citizenship de The Walt Disney Company EMEA, ha afirmado: “Es fantástico que los fans de Disney puedan pujar desde hoy y tener la oportunidad de ser dueños de uno de estos vestidos únicos inspirados en las Princesas Disney. Hemos colaborado durante mucho tiempo al Hospital para niños de Great Ormond Street y es un honor ayudar a recaudar fondos con la subasta de estos vestidos excepcionales”.

Mark Briggs, Store Image Director en Harrods, ha asegurado: “Hemos querido recreando un ambiente único para la exposición de los vestidos en Christie’s, para que se puedan contemplar todos juntos una última vez en un escenario espectacular y acorde a estas increíbles creaciones”.

Clare Borthwick, Vintage Couture Specialist en Christie’s, ha dicho: “Estamos encantados de dar la bienvenida a nuevos compradores y a clientes ya establecidos para que puedan ver los vestidos inspirados en Princesas Disney en nuestra sala de South Kensington en unas semanas. Estos vestidos, que han sido creados por algunos de los diseñadores más reconocidos, formarán parte de nuestra subasta anual de piezas Vintage Couture y bolsos de lujo, y el dinero que se recaude ayudará a una buena causa”.

A partir de hoy, los interesados pueden dejar sus pujas por teléfono (+44 (0) 207 752 3225) o por correo electrónico (ukbids@christies.com) antes de que dé comienzo la subasta el día 13 de noviembre. Ese día, los compradores pueden ir en persona, pujar online desde su casa u oficina, a través de la aplicación para iPhone de Christie’s o a través de las diferentes líneas telefónicas.

El Museo Automovilístico de Málaga lanzó el 7 de marzo de 2013 su nueva apuesta cultural: Maga Sublime Collection. Un recorrido por la alta costura del siglo XX que no dejará indiferente a nadie. Piezas únicas y nunca antes expuestas y pertenecientes a grandes firmas como Dior, Chanel, Balmain o Yves Saint Laurent entre otros.

Cien exclusivos vestidos de los cuales sesenta se exponen bajo el nombre “De Mariano Fortuny a John Galliano”. Modelos que muestran la evolución de la moda a lo largo del siglo XX presentados en cinco temas y bajo una atmósfera de teatro con sofás, muebles, imágenes y complementos:

Desde el esplendor de la Belle Époque, con un magnifico y raro conjunto de vestidos incluyendo un modelo Delphos, considerado el símbolo de la liberación de la mujer.

La elegancia atemporal de la pos guerra con modelos de Balenciaga, Dior, Chanel o Nina Ricci relacionados con mujeres que marcaron su época como María Callas y Jacqueline Kennedy. Modelos de Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin , Oleg Cassini y un conjunto en seda lamé dorado de Dior entre otros.  Todos ellos presentados en una original puesta en escena, como el homenaje a Rita Hayworth en su "Boudoir" o tocador junto a su guardarropa lleno de exóticos vestidos como los utilizados en “La Dama de Shanghai”. Los vestidos de cocktail, icono de los años 50 y la extravagancia de los 60. Esplendorosos vestidos de baile que recuerdan a las fiestas en los palacios venecianos que colapsaban durante meses las casas de alta costura.

Por último, el altar de la alta costura o la moda elevada a la categoría de obra de arte con el sombrero zapato de Dalí o el ave del paraíso de la inmortal Elsa Schiaparelli.

In a hostel in Spain, a gypsy traveler dances on a table surrounded by people. Her speed and rhythm gradually entrances the onlookers and carries them away in an intoxication of instinctive dance. Maurice Ravel's Le Boléro, written in 1928, comes to the Paris Opéra Garnier from May 2 until June 3 and Riccardo Tisci, creative director at French label Givenchy, has created dance costumes for the entire company. It is the first time the celebrated designer has worked with the Palais Garnier on a personal project of this scale and the resulting costumes combine obscurity and romanticism in equal measure. The white, billowing dresses and capes are spectacular when in flight on stage, while the fine, detailed embroidery on the transparent leotards reveals the human skeleton that moves gracefully underneath, breathing life into this theatrical interpretation. Choreographers Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet have entrusted Marina Abramovic with the show's production.  The Art Corporel choreographer aims to give the human spirit a new sense of freedom, redefining limits through this unique interpretation of Maurice Ravel's masterpiece, set to open at the Palais Garnier de l'Opéra in Paris on May 2.

Luc Besson biopic Yves Saint Laurent

Luc Besson producirá el esperado biopic acerca del modisto Yves Saint Laurent, según un comunicado difundido por EuropaCorp, la compañía de producción y distribución. El rodaje comenzará a mediados de junio y durará diez semanas, entre París y Marruecos. Gaspard Ulliel es el actor que encarnará al modisto, en su ascenso meteórico en el ámbito de la moda, a finales de 1960. Dirigida por Bertrand Bonello, Saint Laurent se centrará en diez años de la vida de quien popularizó el smoking para las mujeres y su temprano despido de Dior. Para interpretar a Pierre Bergé, el hombre que compartió la vida del diseñador, se ha buscado a Jérémie Renier. Encantado al hacer una película biográfica sobre un hombre que admira, Bertrand Bonello dijo que "la película será un sueño vestido de Saint Laurent, para que el público pueda comprender el alcance de este genial creador.

La rumeur courait, elle est enfin officialisée. Luc Besson va produire le très attendu biopic sur Yves Saint Laurent, d’après un communiqué publié jeudi par EuropaCorp, sa société de production et de distribution. Le tournage débutera mi-juin et s'étendra sur dix semaines, entre Paris et Marrakech. Sans surprise, ce sera bien Gaspard Ulliel qui incarnera le célèbre couturier dans son ascension fulgurante dans la fashion sphère, à la fin des années 1960. Réalisé par Bertrand Bonello, Saint Laurent se focalisera sur une dizaine d’années de la vie de celui qui a popularisé le smoking pour femme, de son licenciement par Dior aux premiers succès de sa maison. Pour interpréter Pierre Bergé, l’homme qui a partagé la vie du couturier, c’est Jérémie Renier, récemment vu dans Cloclo, qui a été choisi. Léa Seydoux (Les Adieux à la reine, Belle Épine), elle, incarnera Loulou de la Falaise, l’éternelle muse du créateur. Ravi de réaliser un biopic sur un homme qu’il admire, Bertrand Bonello a déclaré que « le film fera rêver comme une robe Saint Laurent, et permettra au public de cerner l’étendue du génie de ce créateur d’exception ». Mais il n’est pas le seul à appartenir au fan club d’Yves. Jalil Lespert aussi a décidé de faire du grand couturier le thème de son prochain film, avec Pierre Niney, Guillaume Gallienne et Charlotte Le Bon au casting. Suspense en attendant les sorties en salles.
