Alexander McQueen’s eyewear ads are for his spring/summer 2010 are visually strong, incorporating McQueenesque patterns and skulls.

The eyewear collection for spring 2010 just proves how much of a genius the late designer was. Instead of featuring gorgeous models, this campaign has gone for a morbid theme and opted for the dead.

Known for his use of skeletons and in-your-face ad campaigns, it really isn’t a surprise that the Alexander McQueen eyewear collection is comparable to a work of art. These beautifully digitized images feature the signature snakeskin pattern, a gigantic skull and coveted sunglasses from the house of McQueen.

Acercándose el Día Internacional de la Danza, SModa aprovechó la ocasión y realizó una producción dedicada a la moda y la danza, los diseñadores y el ballet titulada "Moda en movimiento".

En "Moda en movimiento" Almudena Ávalos, editora de cultura, fue la encargada de los perfiles de los artistas invitados, el fotógrafo Pablo Zamora, de las imágenes; y yo de los textos, escribiendo sobre diseñadores, ballet y vestuario.

Gertrude Stein, her brothers Leo and Michael, and Michael's wife Sarah were important patrons of modern art in Paris during the first decades of the twentieth century. This exhibition unites some two hundred works of art to demonstrate the significant impact the Steins' patronage had on the artists of their day and the way in which the family disseminated a new standard of taste for modern art. The Steins' Saturday evening salons introduced a generation of visitors to recent developments in art, particularly the work of their close friends Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso, long before it was on view in museums.

Beginning with the art that Leo Stein collected when he arrived in Paris in 1903—including paintings and prints by Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Édouard Manet, and Auguste Renoir—the exhibition traces the evolution of the Steins' taste and examines the close relationships formed between individual members of the family and their artist friends. While focusing on works by Matisse and Picasso, the exhibition also includes paintings, sculpture, and works on paper by Pierre Bonnard, Maurice Denis, Juan Gris, Marie Laurencin, Jacques Lipchitz, Henri Manguin, André Masson, Elie Nadelman, Francis Picabia, and others.

Danza Ballet Official Media Partners del Benois de la Danse

Danza Ballet Revista de Colección y Danza Ballet Web pasan ha formar parte de Official Media Partners del Benois de la Danse.

El Premio Benois de la Danse fue fundado por la Asociación de Danza Internacional en Moscú en 1991 para reconocer, cada año, los eventos de ballet más sobresalientes del año sucedidos en algún escenario del mundo, incluyendo trabajos coreográficos e interpretativos.

El próximo mes de mayo de 2012 se conmemora el vigésimo aniversario del concurso internacional de ballet Benois de la Danse, de cuyo proyecto es director artístico y presidente del jurado Yury Nikolayevich Grigorovich.

El Premio lleva el nombre de Benois en honor a Alexandre Benois (1870-1960) cuyo trabajo combinó todas las artes en una. Es una de las figuras de ballet más prominentes de la historia de la danza, y uno de quienes inspiraron las famosas “Russian Seasons” que fueron organizadas en París por S. Diaghilev a comienzos del Siglo XX. Además, fue la cabeza de una numerosa familia de artistas que dio al mundo, por lo menos, 45 actores, arquitectos, compositores, escultores y poetas.

La fecha escogida para la entrega del premio, 29 de abril de cada año, no ha sido escogida al azar. Ese día nació el gran reformador de la danza Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810) y de hecho en el mundo se celebra el día Internacional de Danza. Al día siguiente de la entrega de premios se celebra una gala en la que participan los premiados de la pasada edición, junto a algunas de las figuras más destacadas del ballet actual.

Danza Ballet Revista de Colección es una revista de aparición cuatrimestral que el próximo mes de julio de 2012 cumple su primera año de vida. Su línea editorial cuenta con entrevistas a personalidades del mundo de la danza, la moda, la música; notas de opinión y análisis. En síntesis, material sin fecha de caducidad que convierte cada ejemplar en algo valioso para guardar y coleccionar. Editada por Carolina de Pedro Pascual, cuenta con la exclusiva colaboración de Célida Villalón, Isis Wirth y Juan Carlos Tellechea entre otros destacados profesionales de la cultura.

Danza Ballet Web ha sido creada hace 6 años. En ella las noticias del momento continúan siendo las protagonistas del día a día también de la mano de Carolina de Pedro y junto a sus colaboradoras estrellas: Célida Villalón desde New York y, desde París Isis Wirth.

De esta manera Danza Ballet Web y Danza Ballet Revista de Colección se convierten en los primeros medios españoles especializado en ballet en ser Official Media Partners del prestigioso Benoise de la Danse. © Danza Ballet
